A long-term Vision for the EU's Rural Areas - Towards stronger, connected, resilient and prosperous rural areas by 2040

Rapporteur (the Member appointed to lead Parliament's work on this text): CARVALHAIS Isabel (S&D)
Summary

This own-initiative report sets out a long-term vision for the EU's rural areas to 2040. The amendments focus largely on women in rural areas — their role in the informal and rural economy, the gender employment gap, the share of farms managed by women, the predominance of SMEs, and barriers to healthcare and to support for victims of gender-based violence — alongside recitals on rural depopulation and family farming.

3 roll-call votes

In plenary, Parliament usually votes in steps: first on amendments to the text (sometimes split into parts, so Members can accept one half of a sentence and reject the other), then on the text as a whole. The “main vote” is the one that adopts or rejects the text itself. Each vote below shows exactly which step it was. How voting works →
