Summary

Own-initiative report on sustainable carbon cycles. Amendments stress prioritising emission reductions over carbon removals, distinguish biogenic from fossil carbon and CCS from CCU, address the permanence and reversibility of stored carbon, and reference the European Climate Law, the Commission communication on sustainable carbon cycles, the Innovation Fund, carbon contracts for difference, Horizon Europe and IPCC findings.
