Summary

This dossier concerns deposit protection, the use of deposit guarantee scheme (DGS) funds, cross-border cooperation and transparency. Amendments address completing the banking union and a European deposit insurance scheme, target levels for DGS and resolution financing, coverage of depositors and public authorities, temporary high balances, preventive measures for credit institutions, alternative funding arrangements and avoiding socialising losses onto taxpayers.
