Summary

This dossier concerns the protection of adults in cross-border cases, covering jurisdiction, applicable law, recognition and enforcement of measures, and cooperation. The amendments emphasise supported decision-making and the will and preferences of the adult under the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, legal capacity and equality before the law, the relationship with the HCCH 2000 Protection of Adults Convention, definitions, and the role of notaries.
