Summary

The dossier concerns the legal tender of euro banknotes and coins. Amendments revise provisions on mandatory acceptance of cash, refusals on preferential or circumstantial grounds, ex ante unilateral exclusions of cash by retailers, access to cash including ATM and bank-branch closures, monitoring by Member States, implementing acts and the role of the European Central Bank and the Commission.
