Consultation procedure — the Council decides; Parliament gives its opinion.
Summary
Through this consultation procedure, Parliament gives its non-binding opinion on a Commission proposal for a Council directive amending Directive 2011/16/EU on administrative cooperation in the field of taxation. Parliament approves the Commission proposal and calls on the Council to notify it if the Council intends to depart from the approved text. It also asks the Council to consult Parliament again if it intends to substantially amend the text, and instructs its President to forward its position to the Council, the Commission and the national parliaments. Adopted on 2025-02-12.
