Summary

Through this consent procedure, Parliament gives its consent to the conclusion of the Agreement between the European Union and Canada laying down the conditions for the participation of Canadian legal entities and products originating in Canada in procurement under the SAFE Instrument, following the request for consent submitted by the Council under Articles 212 and 218(6) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union. It acts on the joint recommendation of the Committee on Security and Defence and the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy and instructs its President to forward its position to the Council, the Commission, and the governments and parliaments of the Member States and of Canada.
