Summary

This own-initiative report concerns the role of ocean diplomacy for the competitiveness of EU fisheries and aquaculture. The amendments revise recitals on the EU fishing fleet, seafood imports and strategic dependency, the EU's membership of Regional Fisheries Management Organisations and Sustainable Fisheries Partnership Agreements, the processing and canning industry, and threats from illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing, shadow fleets and climate change, while citing the European Ocean Pact.
