Competition policy – annual report 2025

An own-initiative report on competition policy (annual report 2025). The amendments address market concentration and mark-ups in the single market, the competitive effects of generative artificial intelligence and digital markets, and enforcement through the Digital Markets Act and merger control. They call for a more independent competition authority, revised merger and State aid rules including the Clean Industrial State Aid Framework, support for SMEs, a digital euro to strengthen the payments market, and attention to energy and food prices and housing affordability.
