Summary

Through this consultation procedure, Parliament approves the authorisation of the Member States to accept, in the interest of the European Union, the accession of Cabo Verde to the 1980 Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction, following consultation by the Council under Article 81(3) and Article 218(6) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union. It acts on the report of the Committee on Legal Affairs and instructs its President to forward its position to the Council, the Commission, the governments and parliaments of the Member States, and the Permanent Bureau of the Hague Conference on Private International Law.
