A new co-ownership for the future of Euro-Mediterranean relations – the Pact for the Mediterranean

This is an own-initiative report on Euro-Mediterranean relations and the Pact for the Mediterranean. The amendments emphasise security and counter-terrorism cooperation, maritime security, energy cooperation including renewables, low-carbon fuels and the EastMed pipeline, and oversight by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean. On migration they call for effective returns, binding readmission clauses and combating smuggling, while some oppose extending Erasmus+ to North African and Middle Eastern citizens.
