Summary

The dossier concerns the minimum level of training of seafarers (recast). The few amendments call on Member States to prevent and penalise fraudulent practices associated with certificates of competency and to pursue agreements within the IMO, and provide for the European Maritime Safety Agency to assist the Commission in verifying Member States' compliance with the Directive.
