Emission performance standards for new passenger cars

This dossier is a regulation on CO2 emission performance standards for new passenger cars. Amendments set average new-fleet CO2 targets (figures such as 120 and 130 g CO2/km) and timing, define targets by vehicle utility using footprint or mass, provide for excess-emissions premiums on manufacturers, and promote zero- and low-emission, electric, hybrid and alternative-fuel vehicles, including counting them multiple times toward fleet averages.
