Summary
A recast directive on standards for the reception of applicants for international protection. The amendments set minimum reception standards ensuring a dignified standard of living, address freedom of movement and the use, conditions, grounds, duration and judicial ordering of detention, alternatives to detention, definitions of applicants and family members, the Charter of Fundamental Rights and the 1951 Geneva Convention, and Union funding for reception; several provisions are deleted.
