Complementarities and coordination of cohesion policy with rural development measures

The dossier is an own-initiative report on complementarity and coordination of cohesion policy with rural development measures. The amendments address criteria distinguishing rural from urban areas (population density, employment structure, income and access to services), the OECD definition, demarcation between the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and cohesion-policy funds such as the ERDF, ESF and Cohesion Fund, the role of SMEs and the LEADER programmes, and territorial cohesion.
