Annual report on the activity of the Petitions Committee 2009

Own-initiative annual report on the activity of the Committee on Petitions for 2009. Amendments address the Committee's investigation of citizens' concerns and cooperation with the Commission and Member States, inadmissible petitions, the new citizens' initiative under the Lisbon Treaty, transposition and enforcement of EU law especially on the environment and internal market, the Habitats and Birds Directives and Natura 2000 sites, and an interactive petitions portal.
