Summary
This dossier concerns the situation of fundamental rights in the European Union (2009) following the entry into force of the Treaty of Lisbon. Amendments revise recitals on the Union's founding values and the Charter of Fundamental Rights becoming legally binding, the role of the Fundamental Rights Agency, subsidiarity and the division of competences between the EU and Member States, and provisions calling for a comprehensive internal human rights policy.
