Summary
This dossier concerns a directive on the presumption of innocence and the right to be present at trial in criminal proceedings. The amendments revise recitals and articles on the burden of proof, the right not to incriminate oneself and to remain silent, inadmissibility of evidence obtained in breach, and minor offences, citing the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the ICCPR, the ECHR and the Charter of Fundamental Rights.
