Good governance with regards to the EU regional policy: procedures of assistance and control by the European Commission

This own-initiative report concerns good governance in EU regional policy and the Commission's procedures of assistance and control. The amendments promote multi-level governance, partnership, co-financing and an integrated approach involving sub-national authorities and civil society, European Groupings of Territorial Cooperation, decentralisation of cohesion policy, administrative capacity and absorption of funds, a training and mobility scheme for local and regional actors, and a Commission supervisory role focused on audit systems.
