Enhanced cooperation in the area of the creation of unitary patent protection
A consent procedure on authorising enhanced cooperation in the area of creating unitary patent protection. The amendments diverge between consenting to and rejecting the draft Council decision, and contest whether the requirements of the Treaty articles on enhanced cooperation are met, raising the unresolved translation arrangements, the legal basis introduced by the Lisbon Treaty, openness of the cooperation to all Member States, effects on the internal market, competition and linguistic diversity, and the absence of an impact assessment and of consultation of Parliament on the translation regulation.
