Summary
Own-initiative report on the EU protein deficit. The amendments call for increasing protein-crop production in the EU, highlight reliance on soy and maize imports, price volatility and deforestation in South America with associated greenhouse-gas emissions, address genetically modified crops and glyphosate, the ban on animal protein in feed for ruminants and non-ruminants, CAP reform, monitoring of imports, and reduced meat consumption.
