Enhanced cooperation in the area of the creation of unitary patent protection: implementation; translation arrangements

The dossier concerns the translation arrangements for unitary patent protection. Amendments address the requirement for the patent proprietor to provide a full translation in a dispute, machine translations of patent applications, a compensation scheme administered by the European Patent Office to reimburse translation costs for SMEs, the languages of proceedings (French, German, English) and the transitional period, and periodic evaluation of machine-translation quality.
