Orphan works: permitted uses

The dossier creates a legal framework on certain permitted uses of orphan works. The amendments address digitisation and dissemination by libraries, educational establishments, museums, archives, film heritage institutions and broadcasting organisations, the requirement of a good-faith diligent search for the rightholder, the rights of identified rightholders to end orphan status, copyright protection, and the works first published or broadcast in a Member State to which the framework applies.
