Summary
This own-initiative report is a mid-term review of the European strategy on health and safety at work. Amendments stress occupational risk prevention, the impact of the economic crisis and austerity on worker protection, risks from subcontracting and temporary agency work, musculoskeletal disorders and psycho-social risks, SMEs, ageing and young workers, a gender-based approach, and the figure of 168 000 European citizens dying yearly from work-related accidents or diseases.
