Summary

An own-initiative report on a jurisdictional system for patent disputes. The amendments support establishing a Unified Patent Litigation Court by international agreement, addressing legal certainty, costs and time to resolution, the qualifications and training of judges, multinational composition of the central, local and regional divisions, languages of proceedings, a mediation and arbitration centre, benefits for SMEs, and the primacy of Union law under the Court of Justice.
