Summary
This own-initiative report concerns small-scale and artisanal fisheries and the reform of the Common Fisheries Policy. Amendments address artisanal coastal fishing, shellfishing and extensive aquaculture as socially, economically and environmentally sustainable and as drivers of coastal communities, reject transferable fishing concessions, call for a definition of artisanal fisheries and for better statistics, and seek earmarked support from the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund, regionalisation, traceability, and attention to outermost regions.
