Summary
An own-initiative report on the review of the EU's human rights strategy. The amendments invoke the EU's treaty obligation to place human rights at the core of its external policies, the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights, the European Neighbourhood Policy and Cotonou Agreement, the European Endowment for Democracy, the 'Arab Spring', dialogue with civil society, and the EU Strategic Framework and Action Plan on Human Rights.
