Second European and Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership Programme (EDCTP2): participation of the Union

The dossier concerns Union participation in the Second European and Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership Programme (EDCTP2). The amendments aim to reduce the burden of poverty-related and neglected diseases such as HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria in developing countries, particularly sub-Saharan Africa, by accelerating clinical development of affordable medical interventions; they address the Union contribution matching participating states, links to Horizon 2020, capacity building and fellowships, and access to products.
