Summary
This own-initiative report concerns Marine Knowledge 2020 and seabed mapping for promoting sustainable fisheries. The amendments call for integrating fishing-activity data held by public and private bodies into a multi-resolution digital seabed map, referencing the Data Collection Framework, the Joint Research Centre, the STECF, vessel monitoring systems and logbooks. They address access to fisheries data, financing, data protection, the Aarhus Convention, and coordination by the Commission and Member States.
