European network of employment services (EURES), workers' access to mobility services and further integration of labour markets
This procedure concerns the European network of employment services (EURES), workers' access to mobility services and further integration of labour markets. It runs under the ordinary legislative procedure, so Parliament and the Council decide together and the result is binding EU law. It was handled by the Employment and Social Affairs and Regional Development committees, in the field of free movement of workers. The tabled amendments invoke free movement of workers under Article 46 of the Treaty, establish National Coordination Offices and a European Coordination Office, authorise public employment services and other members and partners to join EURES, provide for cross-border partnerships, and require contact points accessible to persons with disabilities. They also address a common European classification of skills and post-recruitment assistance such as language and intercultural support.
