Summary
An own-initiative report on stocktaking and challenges of EU financial services regulation and a capital markets union. Amendments debate whether the post-crisis reform agenda addressed 'too-big-to-fail' and 'too-interconnected-to-fail' problems, shadow/parallel banking, SME reliance on bank funding, a level playing field for SSM and non-participating banks, and the role of the de Larosière report and ESAs.
