Summary
The dossier concerns implementation of the Mining Waste Directive (2006/21/EC). The amendments address the Commission's overdue guidelines on inspections, divergent transposition and interpretation by Member States, classification and permitting of Category A facilities and missing external emergency plans, the three-year reporting mechanism and questionnaire, links to the Circular Economy action plan, dependence on imported raw materials, and involving local communities in extractive waste projects.
