Summary

This dossier subjects dental amalgam and other mercury-added products to manufacturing, import and export restrictions. The amendments would prohibit dental amalgam for dental treatment given available mercury-free alternatives, address mercury pollution of water, air and land including from crematoria, restrict the export of mercury-added products and mercury-added lamps, prohibit manufacture, import and export of mercury compounds, and address other uses such as porosimetry, lighthouses and thimerosal in vaccines.
