An own-initiative dossier on opening negotiations for an agreement between the EU and Lebanon on exchanging personal data between Europol and the Lebanese competent authorities to fight serious crime and terrorism. The amendments stress consistency with the Charter of Fundamental Rights and data protection, impact assessment, an essentially equivalent level of protection, data retention and erasure, defined categories of offences, independent supervision, and suspension or termination clauses.
