The European Forest Strategy - The Way Forward
An own-initiative report on the European Forest Strategy and its way forward. The amendments revise recitals on the share of EU territory covered by forests, the Natura 2000 network, private ownership, biodiversity and conservation status, climate mitigation and carbon storage, the bioeconomy, illegal logging and sustainable forest management, citing the Habitats and Birds Directives, the LULUCF Regulation, the Renewable Energy Directive and the Timber Regulation.
