Rapporteur (the Member appointed to lead Parliament's work on this text): PIZARRO Manuel (S&D)
Summary

The dossier is Parliament's report on attracting a new generation of labour to the fishing industry and generating employment in coastal communities. Amendments invoke the common fisheries policy and its environmental, social and economic sustainability, the lack of social data, safety at sea, the role of women, fleet restructuring, outermost regions, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on fishers as essential workers.

In plenary, Parliament usually votes in steps: first on amendments to the text (sometimes split into parts, so Members can accept one half of a sentence and reject the other), then on the text as a whole. The “main vote” is the one that adopts or rejects the text itself. Each vote below shows exactly which step it was. How voting works →
