This own-initiative report concerns securing the objectives of the landing obligation under Article 15 of the Common Fisheries Policy. Amendments discuss discards and unwanted catches in mixed fisheries, the choke-species problem, the high-grading ban, exemptions, the loss of reliable discard data and scientific advice, economic losses for fishermen, the phase-in over 2015-2019 of landing and quota-deduction requirements, and conflicts with social legislation such as Directive 2017/159 implementing ILO C188.
