Summary

Own-initiative report on addressing product safety in the Single Market. Amendments cite instruments including the General Product Safety Directive, mutual recognition and Cybersecurity Act regulations, and add recitals on e-commerce, online marketplaces, imports from third countries, traceability and country-of-origin, counterfeit and non-compliant goods, the RAPEX/Safety Gate system, emerging technologies and artificial intelligence, the COVID-19 crisis and the precautionary principle.
