Implementation of the Dublin III Regulation
This own-initiative report concerns implementation of the Dublin III Regulation. The amendments cite the Charter of Fundamental Rights and Court judgments, and address the responsibility of the Member State of first entry to examine asylum applications, the uneven distribution whereby one-third of Member States host most asylum seekers, the absence of a mandatory redistribution mechanism, deadlines, hierarchy of criteria and transfers, and pressure on first-entry Mediterranean States.
