Summary

This dossier concerns the notification under the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA). The amendments revise recitals and provisions presenting the measure as temporary pending amendment of Directive 2003/87/EC, invoke the Paris Agreement and the 1.5 C goal, the IPCC and ICAO, the use of 2019 emissions as a baseline and zero additional offsetting for 2021 given the COVID-19 decrease, and the EU ETS.
