Verification of credentials

In this decision on the verification of credentials, Parliament, acting under its Rules of Procedure and the Act of 20 September 1976, declares valid the mandates of the Members of the European Parliament listed in the annex whose election was notified by the competent national authorities and who made the written declarations required. It notes that some Member States were late in forwarding, or have not forwarded, the lists of substitutes, and that for Spain the notification contained 60 names against the 61 seats allocated, with the name of one elected Member not notified by the Junta Electoral Central. Parliament repeats its request to Member State authorities to inform it of the names of substitutes and their ranking, and calls on the competent authorities to complete without delay the examination of any disputes and to notify Parliament of the result. It instructs its President to forward the decision to the competent national authorities and the parliaments of the Member States.
