Decision on setting up a special committee on the Housing Crisis in the European Union, and defining its responsibilities, numerical strength and term of office
Internal organisation decision: how Parliament organises its own work.
Through this internal organisational decision, Parliament decides to set up a special committee on the Housing Crisis in the European Union to propose solutions for decent, sustainable and affordable housing. The decision defines the committee's responsibilities, which include mapping current housing needs, analysing existing Union and national housing policies, assessing the impact of housing speculation and short-term accommodation rentals, evaluating public and private resources, and contributing to the future European affordable housing plan, working in cooperation with the competent standing committees. It decides that the special committee shall have 33 members and a term of office of 12 months starting from its constituent meeting, and instructs it to present a final report at the end of that term. Adopted on 2024-12-18.
