Summary

This dossier concerns the conservation and sustainable use of marine biological diversity of areas beyond national jurisdiction. The amendments revise recitals implementing the BBNJ Agreement under the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, covering marine genetic resources and digital sequence information, marine protected areas and area-based management tools, environmental impact assessment, the Espoo and Aarhus Conventions, the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, and fisheries.
