A regulation on protecting marine ecosystems in the high seas from the adverse impacts of bottom fishing gears. The amendments reference UN General Assembly Resolution 61/105 and FAO guidelines, the identification of vulnerable marine ecosystems, special fishing permits and impact assessments based on precautionary criteria, scientific observers, prohibitions and area closures, and reporting and mapping of encounters.
