Summary
Proposal for a Community control system to ensure compliance with the rules of the Common Fisheries Policy. Amendments address inspection, monitoring, surveillance and enforcement responsibilities of Member States, the Commission and the Community Fisheries Control Agency, definitions of fishing activities, licences and processing, the powers to close a fishery when a quota or TAC is exhausted, electronic monitoring, and the treatment of recreational and subsistence fisheries.
