Summary

A proposal on judicial cooperation concerning procedural rights and the application of mutual recognition to decisions rendered in the absence of the person concerned at trial. Some amendments reject the initiative; others address mutual trust in criminal matters, the grounds for refusing to execute a decision rendered in absentia, and conditions for recognition where the defendant was summoned in person or represented by a legal counsellor.
