Summary
This own-initiative report is a mid-term review of the European satellite navigation programmes, covering implementation, future challenges and financing. Amendments debate funding for the GNSS programmes Galileo and EGNOS from the Union budget and the MFF, whether Galileo should remain a strictly civilian system or support CFSP/CSDP, the militarisation of space, EU ownership and strategic autonomy, dependence on GPS, and expected economic benefits.
