Summary
A legislative proposal on the European Border and Coast Guard. Amendments propose renaming Frontex as the European Border and Coast Guard Agency and transferring management of the external borders, with provisions on rapid border interventions, European Border and Coast Guard Teams, hotspot areas, return of illegally staying third-country nationals, search and rescue at sea, a Fundamental Rights Officer and complaint mechanism, and the principle of non-refoulement.
