Summary
This recast dossier concerns jurisdiction, recognition and enforcement of decisions in matrimonial matters and parental responsibility, and international child abduction. Amendments revise recitals recasting Council Regulation (EC) No 2201/2003, address uniform jurisdiction rules, the child's habitual residence and right to be heard, return proceedings under the 1980 Hague Convention, leaving the definition of 'marriage' to Member States, and promoting mediation in cross-border family disputes.
