Summary

A legislative dossier on credit servicers and credit purchasers and non-performing loans (NPLs). The amendments link NPLs to over-indebted households and irresponsible lending, raise mortgage collateral and the right to housing, propose a code of conduct for credit servicers and purchasers, a public register maintained by the EBA, macro-prudential standards from the European Systemic Risk Board, and rules for secondary markets safeguarding consumers' rights; one amendment rejects the Commission proposal.
